Necklace lengths and size charts

Selecting the correct length of necklace is critical in achieving the look you want.

The length of the necklace will depend on the style, for example a fine chain with no pendant is perfect for a collar or choker necklace.  For a thick chain a princess of matinee necklace length would be better.

If you have pendant that is large a thicker chain and longer necklace would suit best, go for a matinee or Opera length.

The rope is perfect for elaborate necklaces such as multi-strand or bohemian style necklaces.

Experiment with different lengths and thicknesses.

You should also consider what outfit you would wear the necklace, with a collar shirt either use a choker or princess, so that it can be viewed.

Necklace Length Style Placement on the Body
< 13" Collar Being around the neck tightly.
14"~16" Choker Lying on the base of the neck.
17"~19" Princess Falling on the collarbone elegantly.
20"~24" / 25"~27" Matinee Falling below the collarbone.
28"~34" Opera At or below 1 - 2 inches at the bust.
35"~44" / > 45" Rope Located at or below the waist.

Tip: If you have a thicker neck and are considering a choker style necklace, you can choose 16" necklace.

The preferred length of necklace is a matter or personal choice.  Some people like to layer necklaces in which case you can use any length from collar to rope.

Experiment to find you preferred necklace style.
